Kong Wubba Dog Toy

The Kong Wubba Dog Toy is another virtually indestructible toy which is popular with dogs and dog owners, alike. Dogs love it because it squeaks and it allows dog and owner to interact and share playtime. Owners like it because their dog actually plays with it and can’t destroy it, so it lasts forever, which is money well spent.

For the dog who likes to chew, Kong Wubba is up to the challenge. The best my dog could do was chew some of the “legs” off; this is a dog who used to eat my front steps, railings and corners of my old wooden house.

Wubba is shaped like an octopus or squid, with a head, body and 8 legs, when you purchase it. The accompanying photo shows our Wubba with 3 remaining legs, but its still functional.

We fling Wubba down our tile entryway and Bowzer is more than happy to fetch it and bring it back; several times.

Wubba can also be used as a tug of war toy, or a throw and retrieve toy outside. It’s quite hard, so if thrown indoors, it could lead to broken décor.

A dog can carry Wubba in its’ mouth, either by the head or the legs, and it can fling it in the air itself and either catch it, let it hit him, or fetch it. My dog enjoys this game with his outdoor Wubba in the backyard. One day he’s going to catch it!!

Kong Wubba comes in red, yellow, blue and purple, as well as in different sizes. Some models are made of heavy duty nylon, which resembles canvas, while others have a terry cloth fabric.

A cat will play with almost anything you buy, but when it comes to dog toys, I prefer to take my dog to those boxy pet stores and let him pick out his own toys. Some of those toys are expensive, and if I’m spending that kind of money, he better play with it. So hallelujah for those stores letting our pets in to shop. Bowzer picked out his size large blue Wubba, (the one missing legs), and then a year later, picked out another blue one the same size for his backyard toy.

While he’s in the backyard playing with his wubba, Bowzer bites it and makes it squeak. There are times I go out in the backyard, and every one of my neighbor dogs are playing with their different squeaky toys. I call it the dog toy orchestra. This tells me dogs like squeaky toys.

The next time you visit one of these pet stores, bring Rover or Rosie in and show them a Kong Wubba.

The official Kong website also shows new styles and fabric choices.

The prices are about the same online or in-store, it’s just a matter of convenience, and whether or not you can get free shipping. Several different online retailers carry Kong Wubba, original and the new colors and fabrics.

Bowzer rates Kong Wubba 4 paws up.
