Cat Dancer/Cat Charmer

catcharmer1

If you only buy one toy for your cat, this one would be it. Cat dancer activates any cat,
irregardless of age. Our 14 year old granny cat loves playing with it, and it keeps her cat
skills in shape.

Cat Dancer is a simple idea—wave a long skinny something in front of a cats face, they
will always reach for it. A two foot wand introduces a 4-and-a-half foot skinny piece of
colorful flannel to your cat, and your cat lights up, and goes for it. We call it catting here
at our house, similar to fishing!!

For elder cats, you can slide it on the floor (any surface) like a snake. It aids their hand-
eye coordination while also circulating their blood and it is a form of exercise. If they are
under a table, you can stand near the table and dangle it in front of them, having the end
barely touch the floor, this allows it to ‘dance’ on the floor in front of them.
For all other cats, you can run around the house dangling the piece of flannel 4 feet
behind you and your cat will follow. If you don’t want to run around your house, you can
wait for the grandkids to visit, and this will occupy all involved!!!
You can also use Cat Dancer as a whip or fishing type of toy, by introducing it to your
cat by ‘casting it’ much like a fishing pole, and then bringing it back, casting it and
bringing it back. I let my cats get in every now and then, but not every time. And I make
it more challenging the more they do catch it.
The best way to use cat dancer is to make your cat ‘dance’. Stand near them and dangle
the flannel snake 6-12 inches above their head, or tease them by allowing the flannel to
get close but just out of reach; they WILL jump for it every time. I can get two of my cats
airborne pretty high and since we got our first one as a gift, I’ve had to buy two more to
accommodate 3 rooms and 5 cats, and I spend one hour every day playing dancing cats
with my cats.
I am sure you can create other games to play with your cat dancer and catmates,
especially during winter, when everybody is stuck indoors.
For my slightly overweight cat, Cat Dancer is her only form of exercise, other than
walking to her food bowl or litter box. So we emphasize that she play or um exercise at
least 15 minutes per day with her favorite toy.
I have never seen anything remotely close or as effective as Cat Dancer from any boxy
pet stores. The only place to find them is online, and they range from $1 to $18, as does
shipping. Several sites offered them for under $8. Search Cat Dancer or Cat Charmer, all
the same companies kept popping up.
Cat Dancer is a versatile toy, which cats of any or all ages can play with and enjoy. It
helps them retain cat skills and its exercise disguised as fun.

My five cats each give Cat Dancer 4 paws up, and I give it two thumbs up.
